Family Camp

We greatly enjoyed being a part of Homeschool Family Camp with the Bontrager and Bower families again this year! Since we started doing this about 14 years ago, it has grown so that we now do two different weeks of camp, and it is always such a blessing!!

Of course there are tons of pictures from the two weeks, but I tried to pick out just a few for y'all.

Family camp consists of teaching sessions in the morning and the evening...

fun skits...

memorizing Bible verses...

music...

prayer time and teaching from God's word...

and the rest of the time is open for fellowship...

good conversations...

lots of activities...

running games...

sports...

and any other adventure that you might want to do!

This year the theme was Faith, Family, & Freedom, and I think we all left camp both challenged and encouraged! And possibly a little low on sleep. But seriously, as the culture around us gets darker and more confused it is so important to stand firm on God's Word and to live in such a way that others can see the love and life that Christ brings! The topics seemed extra timely this year: restudying the foundations of faith in Christ and how that daily changes everything, the family as God's creation for stable relationships and life, the importance of fellowship with other believers as iron sharpens iron, and the unique and treasured blessings we have as a heritage of freedom because of our Founding Fathers' God-given wisdom in writing the Constitution.
Family Camp has been fun for us over the years, and we love the friendships we've made there. But more importantly, it has been a refreshing and encouraging time draw near to God.   Sometimes it is important to take time from our normal schedule to step away and seek God for where He wants us, individually, or as a family, or to reevaluate what is of value in our everyday lives, and what things need to be weeded out. Life is so precious and so short, and we want to be good stewards of it, for His glory!

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
Colossians 3:23

Your music video that you posted awhile back is so gorgeous! It's really good advertising.
I thought maybe if you give a sample or one song like that or something from each CD it would help people know what they are getting.

I was wondering why you no longer have two of your CDs for sale, For Unto You Is Born A Savior, and Heritage of Life.

My sister's hypothesis is that you have improved so much since then that you no longer think they are good enough. My ears and probably most people's are not as good as yours at hearing the mistakes, if that is the case.

I hope you can sell them again because they are so lovely; I like them a whole ton more then My Heart Your Home, which you are still selling.

Your family makes my favorite music!

I wonder if you see these comments.

@Sarah Paulus -- Hi Sarah! That is a fun idea! We haven't done many music videos for our cds, and only for our most recent ones, but I can see how that would be helpful. On our website each cd has a little snippet of some of the songs on that album so you can kind of get an idea of what it will sound like.

There are actually about 5 cds that we no longer sell. Mostly because we have to buy them in bulk it's just not practical to have a ton of the older cds for sale because we would most likely end up with stacks of them left. I'm glad you enjoy them though!

I don't check the comments very often, but eventually I do read them! :) Thank you for listing to our music. That is very sweet of you to say.

Hope you have a blessed day!!
