Family Trip Part 1

Because of everyone's different work schedule it is rather challenging to find a time of year when all of us can get together for an extended period of time! So when we decided to do a big family trip to celebrate Dad and Mom's 40th wedding (which is this August) we were excited to find a date in March that worked for all of us!

We decided to all meet in Florida since some of us were going to be down there anyways. Kori and Charissa did a bunch of research on locations that would house this many people and Charissa found one that was big enough and was right on the beach in Destin, Florida. It was so perfect!!!

We assigned people to put together a list of activities, menu plans, clean up crews for all the dishes, people to lead singing and devotions every evening and someone get matching shirts for all of us.

We all arrived at the house on Tuesday and left Saturday morning. It was such a refreshing time!!!! And we got a ton of pictures, so I hope you don't mind a little bit of a picture overload this next week.

The location was absolutely gorgeous! A storm came through the first two days. It didn't rain much, but it made for some really big waves! And the last day was bright and sunny so we all left a little bit sunburned.

One of the activities was a relay race with everyone on the beach! It was made up of three different challenges that you would compete at. First team done with all three, won!

And of course there were a few people that did a workout or went for a run every day.

So many precious moments with all the little ones around!

And plenty of hugs and kisses!

One of the mornings Mom did a Bible story time just like she used to do for all of us when we were in school! It was special to see the grandkids enjoy it just as much as we did!

This was just one of the cupboards we had that was stuffed full of food for the time we were there. All the snacks were on the lower shelves of this particular closet so it was frequently visited!

The peaceful mornings, the children's giggles, the late night conversations, everyone singing hymns together. It was the perfect way to celebrate Dad and Mom's 40th wedding anniversary and God's faithfulness that has been so evident during each of those years.

"Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens;
Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds."
Psalms 36:5

It is so great that the whole family was able to get together! I'm glad you all had a blessed time. I, too, come from a large family that is now spread out across the country so I can appreciate that joyful feeling of having everyone under the same roof even for just a short moment.
