El Salvador

I have so many pictures to share with you of our time in El Salvador that I'm going to do it in a couple different posts. There were times that I didn't take pictures because we were all busy, or for their privacy. But I did get plenty of other pictures!

We flew in late Tuesday night and were welcomed by our two interpreters, Angel and Silvia, and some sweet people from a local church. By the time we made it to the hotel and figured some details out it was late and bed sounded really good! The next morning we got up early, looked out the window and instantly fell in love with this beautiful country.

After breakfast and a devotional we headed to a nearby church to do a free eyeglass clinic. We set up a couple different stations. The first one would figure out what glasses they needed and then send them to the second table where they could pick out what style they wanted, then each person would go outside and hear the gospel.

Besides a break for lunch we did had a continuous line for over five hours! We had a couple hundred people come through and about 20 people received Christ as their Savior.

Our interpreters were a huge blessing and it was fun to get to spend so much time with them over the course of the week.

And since we came from the snowy land of Nebraska, the sunshine was absolutely perfect!

We finished off the day with a church service. They led some songs of worship and then we sang a few songs and Pastor Norm, who helped set this trip up, preached the Word of God.

Day two started just as early and ended up being just as busy! We went to a large school and were able to go into each classroom and share the gospel.

Pastor Norm, Angel, Stephen, Susanna, Alaythia, Nathanael and I went to the older classes and would sing a song, share our testimony and then share the gospel.

Dad Mom, Elizabeth, Charissa and Silvia, went into the younger classes and would do a puppet show and share the gospel through that. We enjoyed getting to talk and play volleyball with the students during the lunch break and since some of them knew a good amount of English it was even easier to communicate! Although, we tried to learn as much Spanish as we could in the time that we were down there!

Then we headed to another part of town and did a special service for a group of kids!

Dad and mom did their puppet show and Elizabeth shared a Bible story using a CEF story book.

It was an incredible first two days with souls changed and more seeds planted!

That they may yield a fruitful harvest."

New Pilot

We officially have another pilot in the family!!!

After a whole lot of work, Nathanael passed his test just 2 days before we left.

Our older brother Josiah is a pilot instructor which is a huge blessing for any pilot wanna-be's in our family.

Congratulations Nathanael!!

I would fly away and be at rest." Psalms 55:6

Getting Ready

The last of our out-of-town family headed home on January 5th and we spent the next two days taking down some Christmas decor, getting the house back in order and kind of hitting a reset button before the next big project.

Now we are just 2 days out from leaving on a two month long trip and all sorts of packing and preparing is happening in full force!

Putting together our singing outfits, practicing music, prepping food for the trip, packing clothes, shoes and a whole lot of other stuff! Not only will we be making our typical stops in Alabama, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and the states in between, but at the beginning of this trip our family is headed down to El Salvador for just over a week to do some community outreach and give out supplies. A lot of us haven't been outside the U.S., Canada and Mexico, so this will be a new adventure! We would appreciate your prayers as we prepare to go. We will be flying out of Texas Tuesday evening and will get back the following week.

If you want updates and specific prayer requests you can follow our facebook or instagram pages! I'll try to post quick updates while we are there. Otherwise you can just wait for pictures and stories on our blog that I'll probably be sharing once we get back.

Christmas ~ random candids

When we are all together as a family I try to get my camera out and capture as many pictures as I can. But some moments are easier to quickly capture with a phone! So here are a few random candids from Christmas that were caught really quick that aren't really the best quality, but are filled with some of our favorite moments.

Because of of how young little Judah is, Ryan and Ruth were only able to make it out for a little bit, so I don't have a lot of pictures with them, but we really enjoyed all the time that we did get with everyone this year!!
