Niagara Falls

We enjoyed spending some time in Canada this last weekend. The folks we've been able to meet up there have been such a blessing and encouragement to us and we are so grateful for the opportunity to make it up there every couple of years.

 On our way back to the states Elizabeth figured out that Niagara Falls was only 20 minutes out of our way!! We'd been there years ago, but it'd been long enough that Charissa didn't remember it all. So we took a little time to stop and enjoy the sights!

We felt like a bunch of tourists!

Walking right up where the water goes over is the most amazing thing. Something so powerful and beautiful makes us feel so small. God's creation is truly magnificent!!

Apparently Niagara Falls is eroding about 3 feet per year. Dad said that it has eroded about 40 feet since the first year he came and saw it. I'll let you do the math to figure out what year that was.

Typically, we don't stop and sightsee very often when we are on the road, but when we do, we are so grateful for the beauty that is all around us and for the opportunity to experience it together as a family. It is not something that we take for granted!!

After that we had a little bit of time left so we stopped in some of the local shops...

and enjoyed some pineapple, mango ice cream as a special treat. It was sooo good!!

"He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that brings forth its fruit in its season,
whose leaf also shall not wither;
and whatever he does shall prosper."
Psalms 1:3

We just got to see Niagara this year, too! Daddy had a business trip not far from there so we made sure to carve some time for a day trip. It's amazing to see God's handiwork and power displayed in His creation.It makes me think of the Psalm which says...."The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods." Psalm 24:1-2. Thanks for posting about it!
