Family Weekend

In case you didn't notice, Our blog has been pretty quiet this last month and it is mainly because nothing really eventful happened. We worked, practiced music, planted our garden, cleaned house, made meals, went to church, had Sunday dinners with the family and did it all again the next week. And because of that I didn't get a whole lot of pictures to share with y'all. Until last weekend! Now I have an overload of pictures, stories and the most special moments to share with y'all!

This pictures explains why. Our entire family was home!!! Since Dan & Bethany live in West Virginia with the most kids they don't make it back to Nebraska very often, so we try to make the most of it when it does happen! As soon as they decided to come back for Memorial Weekend this year everyone else planned a trip back around the same time. Except that it wasn't working for Andrew & Kori. As much as they really wanted to make it back, they were just up a few weekends ago and between expensive airfare and busy work schedule it wasn't going to work for them.

But long story short, after a lot of online searching and moving things around they were able to fly up for a few days!!! Our hearts (as well as our house) were simply full with excitement and gratitude the entire weekend.

Having a few days together was simply the BEST!!! As our family spreads out and grows I think it has made us more aware and intentional with the time we do spend together. Our lives and relationships are a far cry from perfect and we've had our share of 'growing moments', but the pure joy that comes from those family relationships is one of the sweetest blessings that I've seen on earth.

And every time it's over I just have gratefulness to God for putting us all together and showing His faithfulness day in and day out. And to our parents for the decisions and sacrifices they made so that we can enjoy moments like these.

Also, just want to warn you that a boatload of pictures is coming soon!

We Remember

It is not something to take for granted, this thing called freedom.
It is not something to take lightly.

It it something that requires sacrifice,
it requires everyday heroes.

It is something we must learn from those who have gone before us,
and something we must pass on to those coming behind.

It a priceless treasure that costs an ultimate price.

Never forget.
Never lose the vision.

Thank you Grandpa for serving our country and teaching us just how special Memorial Day is!

"Surely he will never be shaken;
The righteous will be in everlasting remembrance."

May

If you can't tell by the quietness of this blog, the month of May has been pretty busy for us without anything too unusual happening. Some of the out of town siblings are coming back next weekend for a visit which we are super excited about! I know I will be posting a lot of pictures from that. But until then we've been working a lot!

Last week the we tried to get a bunch of jobs done so that we can take Memorial weekend a little bit slower and the guys ended up logging 75-80 hours of work in 6 days!

And of course, on the weekends we enjoy a day of rest with the family!

"Remember to magnify His work,
Of which men have sung."

Mother's Day

There aren't enough words to accurately describe the immense love, the tireless service, the amount of sacrifice. the abundant support and the constant prayers that we have been blessed with in our dear Mom!! We are so beyond grateful for the impact that she has had, and continues to have in each of our lives.

This last week we were spread out in Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska, but we made it home on Sunday for church and a big family lunch together to celebrate Mother's Day.

Out of the 6 married children, three of them live close to us in Nebraska and the other three live in Kansas, West Virginia and Florida. All the locals joined us for the day which is always so special!

The fun thing about taking pictures is being able to grab those candid moments that you would otherwise miss. And with a large family there are plenty of those moments!

that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you."

A&K Visit

It's always a good weekend when we hear that tickets were on sale and Andrew and Kori are flying up for a few days!!! It ended up being a busy weekend with work and travels, but time with them is always so special!!

Wyatt has become such a mobile little guy and it was so fun take everything in!!

The guys played their instruments, the kiddos went to the children's museum with their moms, the adults played games and enjoyed time together. So grateful for family and these beautiful spring days!
