NCHEA Prep

It's that time of year again! The Nebraska Christian Homeschool Educators Association conference is just around the corner.

We help with the Children's Conference along with about 90 other staff members to take care of 300 children for two days. It's always a lot of work, but a lot of fun as well! There is a full scale 8 part drama for which we make scenery backdrops! Mom has always enjoyed art and so this has been a fun project over the years as she passed that love on to the rest of us.

This last week has seen us with lots of paint as we get ready for another year filled with singing, drama, character lessons, Bible memory, games and so much more.

This little gal was busy watching us and thanks to curiosity and a little paint, ended up turning several different colors. I didn't get a picture of her all painted up, but she's so cute I had to post this pic.

"In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,
And His children will have a place of refuge."

Making Birdhouses

The first Saturday of every month Home Depot has a workshop for kids. So this last month Nathanael and I brought Charissa, Joanna and Asher in to make birdhouses.
They loved it!!

reading directions, pounding in nails, painting.
It was a perfect memory maker!

Now we just have to hang them up and wait for the birds!

Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings."

Work Season

Since it is still snowing in Nebraska, which is REALLY unusual for this time of year. We went down to Texas to install an irrigation system for the same company that we work with in Nebraska.

It was a lot warmer! But also had a lot more wind!
We are so grateful for the doors that God has opened that enable us to have a balance in life.
We are able to travel and share the gospel on stage, and yet be home and get hard physical work done outside.

After a couple long days we wrapped it up and headed home!

We don't do a lot of jobs so far from home. But when we do, it is a huge blessing to be able to fly some people down to work instead of everyone having to make the long drive. And now it's back to the chilly Nebraska land.

"The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand."
Deuteronomy 28:12

1 + 1 = 4!

Congratulations Ryan, Ruth & Lee!

We are so thrilled for you and can't wait to meet the newest little addition to your family in October.

"Every day I will bless You,
And I will praise Your name forever and ever."
Psalms 145:2

1 + 1 = 6

Congratulations Dan & Bethany!!

Talk about an exciting year! We are overjoyed by the additions that God is sending to our family in 2018. By Christmas time we will have 8 grand babies that are the ages 2 and younger. I'm guessing that no one is more excited to meet this little one than Arianna, Caden and Everett.

"How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How great is the sum of them!"
Psalms 139:17

Easter Sunday!

He is Risen Indeed!!
Easter morning is always special for us! First thing after waking up we run upstairs to see what surprise Mom made the night before. She always decorates the table or walls with something that adds to the excitement of the day. This year we found this on our wall and stones around the doorway so that it resembled a tomb. The table had easter lilies and chocolate surprises. Then we play our favorite Easter worship songs as we eat breakfast and get ready for church.
It truly is a special way to start the day!

This year Ryan & Ruth and Matthias and Michelle came over to join us for a Easter feast!

Busy working in the kitchen! After lunch we enjoyed the fellowship, relaxing and snacking on the leftover food. Sundays are pretty wonderful, and Easter Sundays are even more so!

Happy Easter from our family.

"He is not here; for He is RISEN,
as He said..."

Meet the newest addition...

Ginger!
She is an 8 week old golden retriever that is full of energy or knocked out in a nap.

"Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
And His mercy endures forever."

Recording

Well, we started the recording process! The beginning of last week it rained and so we were able to lay down some of the instrumentation for our next cd.

The weather is warm enough to work now, so I don't know how long it will be before we complete it. But at least we have the wheels turning! We are excited to see how it all comes together!

"Be exalted, O Lord, in Your own strength!
We will sing and praise Your power."
Psalms 21:13
