Sweet New Baby

Everyone knows that when you have a new little baby in the family you have to get lots of pictures of everyone meeting them for the first time. I know that looking at these pictures is not nearly as fun as holding her, feeling the smooth baby skin and kissing her sweet face in person. But I guess you'll have to be content with just the pictures.

She was born early Tuesday morning which ended up being a huge answer to prayer! Elizabeth and Alaythia were flying out that morning at 6AM to visit Dan and Bethany in West Virginia and really wanted to meet their niece before leaving. But of course the baby was going to come in her own sweet time so they went the bed Monday night not expecting anything.

Long story short, Elizabeth got a text around 3AM saying that if they would like to meet their new niece before going to the airport that they were welcome to come over.
God's timing is simply perfect!

Hello beautiful Jenifer Lee!

You can say that Joanna was beyond thrilled to meet her little sister.

So much love!!!

The Wissmann family of 5!

So ar the children of one's youth."

What's the latest news of Ruth?! I think it can be summed up in one word... Ryan!

They are so in love and extremely happy! But since Ryan didn't come into the picture until these last few months, I'll give you a brief picture into her life before then.

Ruth is a very diligent worker and has been able to accomplish a lot over the years! But she also knows how to take the time to enjoy making memories together. This last year has been a beautiful blend of the two.

Ruth became a certified doula a number of years ago and along with helping with a few other births she has enjoyed the blessing of being able to help with the births for each of our nieces and nephews.

She has always had an interest in health and fitness and after learning about the benefits of Plexus she became an ambassador for the company. She has enjoyed the challenge of trying to help each person with what they need in order to help them achieve the health they want. Ruth's wealth of knowledge has been an immense blessing to our family and so many others!

I think Ruth inherited some of our Mom's artistic ability because she has painted backdrops for a number of dramas and events over the years. As well has helping with numerous other projects for people which include everything from sewing to computer research, writing and organizing dramas, to driving pickups and trailers.

Spending time with family and investing in her younger siblings lives has been a high priority for Ruth. She is always available to run an errand, or take the time to lend a listening ear, make a memory or share a scripture or word of wisdom which has been a blessing to each one of us.

And now that has carried over into the nieces and nephews lives as well!

Our family enjoys putting in a large garden every year. There is seriously nothing like eating fresh veggies from the garden! But as many of you know, if you want the garden to produce it requires effort. Thankfully, many hands make light work and so at some time or other you will find all of us out in the garden.

Now for the fun part... Wedding planning!!! It has been over 4 years since the last Wissmann wedding so it kind of feels like doing it all for the first time again. So many details, so many options, so many decisions. Slowly, yet surely plans are coming together for a July 30th wedding. We are praying that God brings the rest of the details together smoothly for the big day.

Being with Ryan and talking to him on the phone is a new favorite activity for Ruth. He has an hour commute to work which means he calls on his way to work, during his lunch break, and then during his drive home. I guess they haven't run out of things to talk about yet because they keep calling! Don't worry, as family, we take our responsibility of teasing them very seriously. :)

We are delighted to see God's incredible blessings in this new relationship and new season.
We recognize that these blessings are a result of the many prayers lifted our behalf
over the past years and are very grateful!

"I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall continually be in my mouth."
Psalms 34:1

Rachel is the oldest sibling which means you get an update on her first. She and Alan have had a huge change this year in the form of a precious little bundle named Kendrick Alan.

Their daily life has changed a bit since having a baby but they haven't really slowed down much.

Alan farms with his brother raising both cattle and crops which make for some big work days.

If you've ever lived on a farm you know that there are always things that need done!

This spring they also had a huge change in losing Alan's mom to cancer. Her life was a beautiful testimony of what it means to live a full and fruitful life in Christ. We were blessed to know her and be impacted by her life!

This little guy is growing fast and enjoys trips into town to go shopping! At least Rachel said that he did on this occasion.

Rachel is happily keeping busy as a wife and mother.

Making delightful meals, helping work around the farm, planting and up-keeping a garden, working on design projects for people, occasionally still writing music, and making a house into a home keeps her days full as well.

{Rachel's little cooking buddy}

I don't really know how she gets anything done with this cute face looking at her.

One of their highlights is leading a weekly Bible Study with students from a nearby college. It has been amazing to see how the group has grown this last year! Alan also meets with a different group of guys on a weekly basis for other Bible studies.

Both Alan and Rachel are very involved in their local church. Alan is a elder, Rachel teaches the kids choir and they help teach Sunday School and lead worship. Having a close knit church family has been a special part of Alan and Rachel's life there.

They keep busy and enjoy where God has placed them. But some of their favorite moments are the ones spent together enjoying one of God's most precious gifts -- family.

"Oh, sing to the Lord a new song!
For He has done marvelous things, His right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory. The Lord has made known His salvation; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations."
Psalms 98:1&2

Family Updates

Some of you have asked for an update on what is going on in each of the siblings lives, and since there have been quite a few changes recently I think now is a good time to do that! God has been so faithful in directing each of us individually and together as a family. It is exciting to see what He has done in the past and we look forward to what He has in store for the future. I will post an update for each sibling so check back soon!!

We appreciate y'all taking time to keep up with our family. Your encouragement and prayers mean a lot to us!

"This will be written for the generation to come,
That a people yet to be created may praise the Lord."
Psalms 102:18
