South Carolina

The beautiful countryside of South Carolina is far behind us. But the memories of a great week from our tour are still filling us with gratitude, so we'll post one of a couple 'catch-up' posts. Thank you for your patience as we've been working the kinks out of our new website format!
After wrapping up the prison ministry in Alabama --with a few stops in Tennessee and North Carolina -- we pulled in for another week of prison work in South Carolina. I know we've mentioned this before, but the prison opportunity is such a highlight for our family every year.
Stepping out of our comfort zone.
Seeing lives dramatically changed by the Gospel.
Standing in awe of the Lord's power as His Spirit moves.
Feeling the fellowship of God's people as you all cloaked our ministry in prayer.
Enjoying the encouragement of other believers, all gathered with the same mission.
It's hard to put it all in words. We serve an awesome God!
Here are a few photos from our week:
In a teaching/training session.
A local church so generously welcomed us as a temporary 'home' during the week. We used the space and afternoon hours to work on new music. We're sincerely excited about the message and themes of the music the Lord has been giving us. These songs were especially powerful as we shared behind bars and on the remainder of the tour.
More practicing.
And in a big family, the ever-needed trips to the grocery store are a regular occurrence.
Typically, the music ministry teams (such as our family) enter the prisons for the evening service but this year Elizabeth and Hannah had the opportunity to spend a full day in a woman's prison with the volunteers. This was an incredibly opportunity to be able to engage in conversations and spend more time with smaller groups of women instead of the large service format.
A special moment of the day happened as Elizabeth & Hannah were sent with a group of volunteers to a specific dorm. After singing a few songs for them, they noticed one of the ladies trying sign to one of the other inmates. Since our family used to sing a song with sign language, we decided to share that particular song for her, signing as we sang. Her eyes lit up, sparkling, as we started singing and signing! Thankfully, we also knew enough sign language to communicate with her after the song. It was a special moment as God caused our paths to cross so she could sense God's love in that personal way.
Thank you to all who prayed for us during that week!

"In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him." 1 John 4:9

Unexpected News

The end of last week we had some unexpected news. The sort of news that you never want to hear. And yet, news that could've been so much worse. Gratitude and great concern all wrapped up into one.

Our dear grandpa underwent testing on his heart where they discovered two of his main arteries were 95% blocked, with the third 40% blocked. They immediately scheduled triple-bypass heart surgery for early Monday morning (yesterday).

It's been a whirlwind of calls, texts, travel plans, and prayers as Dad & Mom traveled to Iowa to be with Grandpa & Grandma and Mom's family during this time.

And yesterday, in the midst of the surgical center, something beautiful happened. We posted our prayer concern on Facebook and Instagram and were flooded with comments, prayers, and love from you. How precious is the body of Christ! As they wheeled Grandpa into surgery, Mom & our aunts sat with Grandma and read each of your comments one by one as they were posted. We were overwhelmed by your care and prayers as our family walked through this difficult time. Thank you.

The triple-bypass surgery was a success and Grandpa came out of the anesthesia without complications. He is now in the slow, painful recovery process. The next few days will be critical.

Again, we cannot fully express our gratitude and covet your prayers for the coming days.

We're Back

Wow. It's been awhile. Too long.

Thousands of miles have passed beneath the bus wheels.

We've crossed paths with hundreds of dear people -- many old friends and new.

A dozen prison services with answered prayers at every turn.

Priceless conversations with people from a variety of backgrounds, struggles and joys.

A new recording has been completed -- this time with many songs we've recently written and arranged.

We've had a new addition to our family -- a bundle-of-energy puppy!

And once again, we see the Lord's faithfulness woven throughout. Always strong in our weaknesses. Always with grace for each new experience.

We have so much to share with you!!

But before we launch into a flurry of post-tour posting, you'll probably notice that we've done another update to our site. While the design is about the same, we're excited to announce some new updates, thanks to Johnson Marketing & Media:

We now have all of our music -- and the DVD -- available as music downloads! You can listen to audio clips and instantly purchase and download each CD. We've also updated our shipping & handling process, so you'll be much more up-to-date with your order. Visit our store HERE.

Our schedule page is still in the works as we still need to update the summer ministry schedule. If you're interested in hosting a concert this summer, please be in touch with us soon! We'll be mostly ministering in the midwest until September, when we tour to the East Coast. If you'd like more details, contact us HERE or via phone: #402-641-7830

Again, we're excited to be back online and look forward to sharing the Lord's work in the coming days. Great things HE has done -- and continues to work in our lives!
"For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords,
the great God, mighty and awesome."
