Life on the Road

Life on the road is an experience difficult to describe -- but what exactly do we do all day?! Well for starters, no day is exactly the same. It truly is a life of variety. Flexibility is vital! As to the practical side of things... imagine everyday life - cooking, cleaning, school, eating, sleeping - then put it in a 45 foot vehicle and send it down the road!

It is more practical -- and economical -- for us to make our own meals rather than frequenting restaurants. Cooking in our tiny, moving kitchen has made for some humorous stories over the years! Our drivers do a very good job, but every once in a while there is a sudden red light, or a sharp corner. And before you know it, what was once a meal in preparation is now scattered on the floor! Thanks to rubber sticky mats and lots of experience, we don't have to many of those experiences any more.

If we don't have far to travel during the day, we will typically pull out our instruments and practice... practice... practice...

Because our days at home are usually filled with work, home projects, and local ministry, we try to work up our new music during free afternoons on the road. So yes, right now we are adding new music to our repertoire!

As we travel, so does our school! Long hours on the road calls for bringing out the books and studying.

In 45 feet, spending everyday with your best friends, experiencing life together, I can truly say that together is my favorite place to be!

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
For brethren to dwell together in unity!"
Psalms 133:1

ReNew Hope

We've just finished sitting through 1.5 days of orientation.

The above statement could sound very mundane and dry. But in reality, it is filled with eager anticipation, joy, and excitement! We're gathered with hundreds of believers here in Alabama with one purpose: to proclaim the LIFE and LIGHT found in Jesus Christ. To bring Hope. To share Love.

The person of Jesus Christ.

This message transcends the limitations of prison bars. It exceeds the walls built by pain and human suffering. It surpasses our understanding and reaches to our deepest needs.

The person of Jesus Christ!

What a privilege we have as literal light-bearers. What an awesome responsibility.

Thank you for your prayers for our family this week. We covet them and know that the Lord has great things in the store for the coming days!

Encouragement from the Word

The many volunteers here ministering with us.

"The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;"
Luke 4:18

New Website:

Yes! We have a new blog header -- and a new website design! With thanks to Kori for her photography, A Source of Joy Design for the great header, and Rachel's work designing the site, it is now up and running with a fresh look. Over the coming week we're hoping to add new elements: sound clips, photos, and the 2015 Branson information. But for now -- take a look around and tell us what you think!

After sharing concerts in Kansas and Oklahoma, we're now in Alabama preparing for a week of prison ministry. We covet your prayers and look forward to keeping you up to date throughout the prison ministry. Watch for updates here -- or check our Facebook page.

Until the nations know!

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,
teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;
 and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:19-20

Loading Up

The hours of preparation are almost wrapped up and we're loaded and almost ready to head out for our first 2015 tour. The past few days have been filled with grocery shopping and preparations. Music practice. Cleaning. Packing.

And seeking the Lord for the upcoming weeks on the road. Praying for His guidance, safety, and effective working through our time of sharing. We leave with excitement, knowing that God has gone before us, preparing the people, places, and situations that we'll encounter in these coming weeks. We covet your prayers!

On the practical side of preparations, here are a few pictures of the mountains that have been moved from the house to the bus over the past couple hours:

One load at a time!

Sorting it all into the cupboards

And we're headed out! First stop, Palmer, Kansas. From there we'll head to Oklahoma and south to Alabama. We hope to see many of you on the road in the coming weeks!

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

In the Studio

With Christmas music fresh on our minds, we recently spent a full week in a very familiar place: the studio! Our previous Christmas project -- while still often requested -- is quite out of date. Before we set aside the beloved carols for another year, we decided it was time to cut a another project. How thrilling it was to lay down the tracks for all the new arrangements and songs we prepared for Branson over the past 4 months. We're extremely excited to share this project with you for the 2015 Christmas season.

Stay tuned...!

Happy New Years!

A very happy New Year to you, our online family! We look back on 2014 with gratitude -- and eagerly anticipate sharing 2015 with you! Thank you for each comment and 'share' -- we love interacting with you on this forum. Pressing forward in 2015!!

"Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended;
but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind
and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,
I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call
of God in Christ Jesus."
Phil 3:13-14
