A Time for Planting:

"For everything there is a season..." And for our family, planting season is just wrapping up. We had an assortment of seed left over from last year's planting. We weren't sure if many of them would germinate, so we planted an abundance of flats on our sunporch a couple months ago. Well, lo and behold, all of the seed germinated! We now have them all transplanted into the gardens and are watching the little plants take off and grow!

Are we crazy for planting 157 tomato plants?!...34 pepper plants?! This is our largest garden yet, but we all love canning, freezing, and dehydrating the produce. I'd say we have a busy summer/fall ahead of us!

Do you have a garden this year?! What are your favorite veggies to grow?!

“While the earth remains,
Seedtime and harvest,
Cold and heat,
Winter and summer,
And day and night
Shall not cease.”
Gen 8:22

We are planting lots of watermelon and cantaloupe plants this year! Charity and Kristina both have mission trips they hope to go on withing the next two years, so they are trying to see if they can grow extra to sell at a local farmer's market this year. But we'd never ever have room in our garden for that many tomato plants! ;-)

Our main plants our potatoes-we usually plant around 20-25 rows- but carrots, tomatoes, peas, beans, are all staples. Then we have berries, too.

Wow, wish I can garden like that. ;) We have our garden tilled this year, and I think my favorite veggies/fruits to grow are tomatoes, lettuce, watermelon, cucumbers, and potatoes.

Hey Wissmann's,
Yes, my mom, sister and I have a garden. We have different erbs and we have purple flowers to. We also have blueberriers, strawberries and tomatoes to.
In Christ,
p.s. 157 tomatoes and 34 peppers aren't crazy lol.

What are those yellow tomato planters in the last picture? They look like they would yield sturdy tomato plants! And no, 150 isn't crazy - I think we planted 450 this year!

Even with half the family gone we have managed to plant just as big a garden as ever! ;)
Our favorite thing is probably the overabundance of strawberries we have every year!

Looks like your garden is really growing! We've planted a larger garden at our cousins' land in the past, but this year we're doing a square foot garden in our backyard. (Peppers, herbs, parsley, carrots, beans, flowers, lettuce, spinach, and other things I can't remember at the moment.) Thanks for sharing and have a blessed summer!

Wow! Wish we can plant that many plants, but with not much land and gophers eating the roots, we gave up planting. :) You sure will be busy! :)

Send some our way when your veggies grow, lol! Our garden never worked despite our best efforts and different methods... :(

Maybe one day.

I just recently finished putting in my garden, although later than I wanted to! I love planting tomatoes and cucumbers, because I loved canning last year!! It was so rewarding, not to mention yummy! My family also enjoy spaghetti squash!
