Festival Preparations

Today is the day! Anticipation is certainly building here at Lake Itasca as families begin to pour in, eager for a weekend of fellowship, music, and fun! We arrived on Wednesday to help with preparations in a variety of ways. Its been great to be part of the amazing behind-the-scenes work that happens in order to make this event possible. Here are a few pictures from the past 24 hours:

Scrubbing the Snack Shack from top to bottom.

Picking up sticks and prepping the walkways.

The bathroom brigade

Dad felt right at home, donning his painting gear and spraying one of the buildings.

Paintbrush teamwork

And paying attention to the details.

Smiles!

Folding programs

And picking up more sticks

Carpenters at work

Music Practice

And rehearsing for the children's Storybook Hour. Elizabeth painted this backdrop to enhance our missionary drama story for this year.

The festival begins this afternoon. As we're responsible for many aspects -- including music ministry, workshops, teaching, and children's ministry, we covet your prayers as we endeavor to serve and encourage. May the Lord be glorified!

"Serve the Lord with gladness..."
Ps 100:2

Ruth was the photographer. And Stephen!? He spent the day on the 'back-40', measuring all the camping spots and marking them out. Our photographer didn't make it out that far to document the action. I'm impressed you noticed the missing workers! Watch for pictures of them in action in an upcoming post...
