During family camp after morning chapel we split into father\son and mother\daughter groups. The guys always have some random fun project that they work on during the course of the week.
This year was a project that was like no other!
Every father and his sons were given 4 sheets of 4x5 cardboard and 3 rolls of duct-tape to create whatever floating masterpiece their minds and hands could possibly fashion!
After much thinking, shaping, and hard work these wonderful creations were painted (to seal the cardboard) and carefully carried up to the lake! The race is on!
Every boat had to carry a minimum of 2 people! They launched 3 or 4 boats at a time from the dock to race to the other side. And you sure hoped your boat would float as the weather was quite chilly!
The cheerleading section
Matthias and Stephen were the chosen two for this masterpiece!
Then once all the boats were across (whether by sailing or swimming) The ones that were still able had a grand race back to the dock. And if you look closely at the picture you will notice that not quite everyone made it the second time.
It was incredible watching all the hard work put into these boats and I think everyone was amazed how long most of them stayed afloat!
And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.
