Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.
Psalms 1:1-3

Holding fast the word of life, so that I may rejoice in the day of Christ

During family camp after morning chapel we split into father\son and mother\daughter groups. The guys always have some random fun project that they work on during the course of the week.
This year was a project that was like no other!

Every father and his sons were given 4 sheets of 4x5 cardboard and 3 rolls of duct-tape to create whatever floating masterpiece their minds and hands could possibly fashion!

After much thinking, shaping, and hard work these wonderful creations were painted (to seal the cardboard) and carefully carried up to the lake! The race is on!

Every boat had to carry a minimum of 2 people! They launched 3 or 4 boats at a time from the dock to race to the other side. And you sure hoped your boat would float as the weather was quite chilly!

The cheerleading section

Matthias and Stephen were the chosen two for this masterpiece!

Then once all the boats were across (whether by sailing or swimming) The ones that were still able had a grand race back to the dock. And if you look closely at the picture you will notice that not quite everyone made it the second time.

It was incredible watching all the hard work put into these boats and I think everyone was amazed how long most of them stayed afloat!

And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us, And establish the work of our hands for us; Yes, establish the work of our hands.
Psalms 90:17

Family Camp

Family Camp began Sunday evening with supper and ended Thursday mid-morning after brunch. It was a wonderful time filled with fun, fellowship, and teaching.

The first evening was devoted to introductions. We all enjoyed a game for each family to introduce themselves, and then Dad introduced the theme for the week....Faith!

Each day started with a morning chapel, Ruth and Matthias lead the memory verse which was:
Hebrews 12:1-3.

We also presented the drama that we had done for the Lake Itasca Music Festival on Brother Andrew's life -  a very good example of faith!

Since we did not have everyone that helped us at Lake Itasca we had to change some of the actors and recruited some new ones.

Never a dull moment with these guys on stage!

I had the honor of being the narrator, which was something that I had never done before, but really enjoyed.

After the morning chapel we split up into father\sons and mother\daughters sessions with the goal of equipping the saints to cover topics of particular interest. Elizabeth talked about exercise.

Every afternoon was free time to participate in the different activities they have available. One of the favorites was mountain boarding!

Some cool jumps made for some incredible pictures and videos.

Dad spoke during the evening sessions.

This year the theme was Faith, so when Dad spoke each evening his topic was on three different aspects of Faith. He had a fun object lesson for each night that was quite memorable, AND funny! :)
There were so many wonderful moments I'd run out of room to tell you of them all. But know that it was an incredible week!

Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.
Hebrews 12:1-3
