I just woke up to this (we're over here in Germany) a few hours ago and had to tell you that I am thrilled for you, Rachel! I don't know you except through your blog, but I feel as if I do, having read it for the past 5 years. You two look *wonderful* together and since you're a little older, you're blessed with a more pragmatic mindset. I also love the ring he chose - elegant and different - the stones on either side of the solitaire make it very special, indeed.
One thing I'd tell you to be happy about as you begin this journey: as a person who is getting married later in life (realizing that you are not as old as I was - I was 34 - and that I am not calling you old, by any stretch of the imagination!) you will find that since you've lived a little, you know what you're getting into and you're more relaxed about each other not being "perfect" all the time. My best advice? Just be KIND to each other, "forgive first" and remember that a hug pretty much solves anything. :) I'm still in the "pinch-myself-because-I-got-such-a-great-guy-and-I-couldn't-be-happier" phase, and I absolutely predict the same for you.
