Visiting the Beach

Last night we were able to visit the beach while visiting some friends near Tampa Bay. The air was warm and perfectly calm as we walked the sandy beaches and searched for shells. From the uniqueness of each shell to the colorful palm trees and foliage, every detail of this earth proclaims the creative, detailed God that we serve. Whenever we spend time in nature, I never cease to be in awe.

It was especially fitting as just hours earlier I had read the following verses:

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,
The moon and the stars, which You have ordained,
What is man that You are mindful of him?"
Psalm 8:4-5

How great is our God!

Alaythia found this unique sea creature.

Smiles in the sunshine:

[Jesus is the ANSWER!]

"O Lord GOD, You have begun to show Your servant Your greatness and Your mighty hand, for what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do anything like Your works and Your mighty deeds?"
Deut 3:24

Warm, calm air...sandy beaches...palm trees...In this cold winter weather, a beach sounds lovely!

I believe God's splendor shall never cease to amaze us! Nature has wonderful way of reminding us of our praise-worthy Creator. And, great verse. We are rather insignificant in creation, yet God cares about us. Wow. Thanks for the post. :)

Fun, fun! Looks like y'all had a great time at the beach! =) Loved all the photos...thanks for sharing. I would love to be in that warm weather right now. (It snowed a bit several days ago here!)
As soon as I saw the last picture I started humming the song that the Bontragers sing, "Jesus is the answer every time!" =)
Many blessings,

How nice! My parent's and I didn't go to the beach while we spent 10 days in Florida though but my brother, my sister-in-law, my niece, and my nephew did.

Random thought... Since our honeymoon on the Gulf of Mexico I always thought that little creature that Alaythia is holding in her hand was the culprit for the 2 dozen stinging barbs in my foot I suffered after stepping on it in my first ever dip in the ocean. Apparently they're not as aggressive as I thought... and maybe my run-in didn't even involve THAT creature. that was just the best Andy and I could come up with since the Mexican doctor that helped us only knowingly nodded his head when he saw the barbs and shrugged his shoulders communicating my best option was to sit and pour vinegar water over my foot...

Really enjoyed the photos! So beautiful. And I'm 100% jealous of your experiences there.... Today I saw the temperature was 37 degrees and wondered to Andy, "Why are we even wearing coats??!!"

I believe THAT creature is a Sea Urchin!!! You should Google it!! :)
Yes, I love the ocean. :) Our family went to Mexico 2 years ago, and we stopped at this beach in the middle of no-where. You can imagine all the seashells, coral etc. we saw. It was AWESOME!!!!! The beach was COVERED!!!

The creature Alaythia was holding is a Sea Urchin and the other commentor was right, it stings but only in self defence. My son stepped on one in Jamaica 2 years ago and it HURT! We were able to handle it though. I posted a video on my blog of it moving on a beach blanket (it's spiny things moving). Here is the link
