A Week of Surprises

Sometimes God surprises us with special delights -- and this week we had several unexpected blessings. With the arrival of a huge winter snowstorm, our original plans of an afternoon visit with the Duggar family turned into a couple sweet days of fellowship. What an encouragement they were to our family! Here are a few pictures of our visit...

Baking with Johanna

Playing and visiting together

Some friendly competition

And sweet times

The ever-smiling miracle, Josie

We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren,
as it is fitting, because your faith grows exceedingly,
and the love of every one of you all abounds toward each other."
2 Thes 1:3

How FUN!! I loved seeing the photos!
The Duggars are an encouragement to so many including me. =) Their daughters are lovely examples of biblical femininity, purity, and modesty.
And sweet little Josie...what a blessing!
Looks like y'all had a fun time together! Thanks for sharing, Rachel! =)

I agree with Annie -- it does look like fun! I think it would be neat to meet the Duggar's. I have heard a lot about them, but never actually met them.

That is such a sweet picture of Charissa and the other little girls playing together!

Blessings!

That is SO cool that you got to spend time with them, Rachel! My brother and I watch their show 19 Kids and Counting, and love it! When I first pulled up your blog, I looked at the first picture and thought, "I recognize her!" Funny!

awww.... what a sweet blessing to spend time with such a sweet family. My 6 yr. old keeps asking me when we can go visit the Duggars! We have never met them and they do not even know us but she has been so blessed to see their family on their tv show that we see via netflix.
And I would love to meet you all too sometime! We have seen you at Old Thresher's and Kalona Fall festival but never been able to come introduce myself. Am hoping to come see your show in Branson, if you have one there this coming holiday season, that is. We will be in Branson for Thanksgiving.

Blessings,
Holly

I'm so glad that you could meet the Duggars. They look like such a fun family to be around. I have wanted to meet them for such a long time. I have watched their TV show a long time now and it has been such a blessing. Their family is so Godly and I can share that love for God with them. Johannah looks so much like her older sisters its almost scary. To the Duggars, Your family is beautiful. God Bless you all.

How fun that two of my favorite families are friends and I didn't even know it! What a great time you all had, I only wish our family could spend time with both of your families, I'll bet it would be awesome!

We are going to visit with the Duggars this weekend, they are going to be in Lawrence,Kansas for a fundraiser. I am so excited!

I hope we will get to meet your family in the future. Hopefully the next time you are in Branson or if you ever come here to Kansas City!

Thank you for sharing your photos! Blessings!

It is so amazing to see how God connects people who have a common bond in Him. I have been following your blog for about two years now and actually just got to meet the Duggar family and spend some time with them a couple weeks ago. Both of your families are such an encouragement and a wonderful example of the kind of family God gives when we put Him first. Thank you for your testimony of faithfulness to Him!
