Reaching Out

"...for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."
Luke 19:10

To seek the lost. This is personally challenging to me. How often do I go out of my way to seek those who are hungry for Christ? To show initiative in sharing the love of Christ!?

We're currently on tour in the beautiful state of South Carolina. I have so many updates I'd love to post this week. Hopefully my internet connection will cooperate! *smile*

But here's a tidbit that encouraged our hearts this past weekend: We shared at a small, sweet church in Iowa on Sunday morning. It was our first visit to Fort Madison. And the pastor exemplified the above verse to our family. Showing initiative. The day before our service, he went door to door in the community, inviting people to our service.

One lady came. And she met with the pastor afterward to share that she'd surrendered her life to Christ during the service. The angels in heaven rejoice!

"So then neither he who plants is anything,
nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase."
1 Cor 3:7

Aren't you thankful that God desires to be actively involved in our daily lives?!

I find that command personally challenging as well. Though it may be hard, as you said, it is a blessing that God has revealed His love to us and is working in our lives.

I continually see how your family is changing lives for the Lord and now with your testimony of the lady who accepted Christ. May you continue to serve Him and reach out!

What an encouragement. If we do not share, or invite, people to hear the Word of God preached or in song, then we may have lost someone that needed to be saved. We need to be bold in our witness. Good that the pastor took the time to go door to door and invite people to your service. It was God's plan for that woman's life. Rejoicing with the angels, too.

Your report is commendable in the extreme! That one soul is worth your every effort and then some. I could not be prouder of you all or more in love with our heavenly Father than I am right now. Thank you all for your faithful service to our Lord and to a people who will yet know Him!
All my love in Christ!!!

What a beautiful testimony. God is faithful to challenge us AND encourage us when we need it. And your family's faithfulness to share was instrumental in seeing another one come to the Lord. Bless the name of the Lord and God Bless your family as you continue to reach out with the love of Christ. I am praying for your family.

This was an encouraging testimony to hear. Our family has gone door-to-door in our little neighborhood many times extending invitations, and often with few results. But, we never know what God is up to! May we be found faithful to seek the lost and leave the results up to Him.
