Mommy

Happy 50th Birthday Mommy!

I know we normally don't share our parents ages but this is such a milestone birthday! Our mommy is truly one of a kind. It's not every woman who could simultaneously be a member of the "Red Hat Society" and "MOPS" (Mother of PreSchoolers) --but she lives too full a life for either!

And in all seriousness, Mommy, we can hardly find fitting words for a tribute. Your life is an amazing example to each of us as you daily live a life of self-sacrifice, love, and joy! We love the way your face lights up when Daddy walks through the door...and how you enjoy cuddling while reading a good story. We're grateful for the chapters of the Bible you've helped us memorize over the years and how each day is an exciting adventure to learn and grow together. We love you dearly!!!

And just a few of Mommy's favorite things....
  • Evening Activity -- Family reading
  • Sport--tennis [smile]
  • Music--Piano practicing in our home
  • Vacation Spot -- Anywhere with Daddy
  • Bible Character -- Jesus
  • Historical person --George Washington Carver
  • Dessert -- Fruit & Yogurt
  • Stores -- 2nd Closet & EtCetera

"Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many daughters have done well,
But you excel them all."

Prov 31:20-30

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Wissmann. You don't know me but we've seen you at a number of your programs at Old Threshers. You're raising an amazing family. (By the way, I really like the effect of the hammered dulcimer and your skill in playing it. It adds an almost crystal brightness to your music.)

(I like your choice of George Washington Carver. Does it have anything to do with your going to Ames? He seemed to be such a humble man and yet he contributed so much. An unknown genius for the most part. Thanks for recognizing him.)

A very happy, happy birthday to you Mrs.Wissman.This is from an anonymous christian family in Spain who follow your blog with great enthusiasm. We find it fun and inspiring. Please keep up the good work!! We are sorry this is late, but our way of life here leaves me little time for computer work. There is an expression which is used here when somebody celebrates a birthday and the translation is simply "may you double them" meaning the years you have completed. Mrs. Wissmann, we would like to wish the same to you..."que els dupliquis!!"
