Beans Forever

As any of you who have visited our part of the country already know -- we live in the heartland of corn and soybean fields; gravel roads, and farm equipment. While our family resides in the center of Seward (population 6,428), we have many farming friends in the area -- and every once in awhile we get a taste of real farm livin' ourselves.

Such as this morning. After gathering enough assorted and dangerous-looking 'tools' we headed to the fields right after sun-up for several hours of 'walking beans' -- cutting out the unwelcome corn. It was great to be out in the breezy morning air!

Go, Andrew, go!

Even our friend, Kori, joined us -- adding much fun to the experience!

The whole crew. Ready for ......um... a little clean-up!

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might."

Talk about being armed and dangerous! I'm sure glad I wasn't one of those unwanted cornstalks.

Looks like you all were just a little busy! I'm sure you did it whole-heartedly. Wouldn't be like your family not to! Thanks for sharing.

Oh- looks familiar!! Several of us helped a friend walk his beans last Spring, only in his huge field and there was almost more weeds then beans, so it took several mornings.
