Smiles from Michigan

Greetings from the Flint, Michigan area! It seems autumn has been on 'fast-forward' the past couple days as we've arrived in the land of chilly breezes and barren trees. But in contrast to the landscape, we've been enjoying the warm hospitality and fellowship of the believers here.

For a quick glimpse of our week in pictures......

The boys were delighted by a quick stop to a large instrument store in Lansing.

There is something special about singing for retirement homes. The joy on their faces when they see all the little children is priceless.

"How precious is Your lovingkindess, Oh God...
for with You is the fountain of life.
In Your light we see light."
Psalm 36:7&9

Hey there. Glad you're enjoying Michigan so much. I've got roots in the Motor City, but was never up there much. Still, hearing about Michigan strikes some homesickness/nostalgia. Maybe it's the people I haven't seen or heard from in so long...

What do you think of Flint? When I was in college I made trips to downtown Flint every six months, so I grew pretty familiar with that part of Flint and heard about quite a few of the suburbs like Grand Blanc, Swartz Creek, Flushing, Burton, etc.

By the way, I forwarded info on your Grace Fellowship concert to a friend who used to go to Grace Fellowship when it met in the Riverfront Character Inn. They might be able to make it to one of the two Sunday concerts.

Hello, Wissmanns!
My name is Gera. I found your blog via the Ulman's blog. Like I told them, It's a blessing to see such a large family. I am next to oldest of six children that range from 19 to 9 mos. The first five of us were girls, and then Mom had a boy. What a blessing! :) My dad is the pastor of Victory Baptist Church in Oakland, MD. Check out our website at http://www.indvictorybaptist.com
My sisters and I sing at the two nursing homes nearby too, once a month. My dad preaches there, also.
Are ya'll missionaries? Just wondering.
Also, I want to say what a blessing to see the young ladies dressed so modestly. That is also something you don't see very often. Thank you for being a witness in dress as well as in ministry. You never know how far dressing modestly will go in influencing someone for the right.

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, And in Your righteousness they are exalted. Psalms 89:15-16
