Camp Wapo

...And now, we interrupt our normal blogging topics to bring you a small peek into the ‘Wissmann family history’ archives… [smile]

It was June of 1977. A certain young man and a certain young lady both signed up for a summer ministry team, headquartered at a certain Bible camp in Wisconsin…

Yes, Dad and Mom first met as they were assigned to the same mission team 29 years ago – Dad as the team leader. They introduced themselves and had their first conversation on the steps of an unassuming building called the ‘Lodge’. Though they little suspected a new chapter of life had begun, the Lord was leading them both in His plan – and are we ever grateful!!!

This past weekend our whole family was able to visit Camp Wapo and stand at the steps of the Lodge together.

Dad and Mom have both shared what a blessing it was to meet and grow to know each other with the backdrop of many hours spent learning to study God’s Word and sharing it with others. We thank God for Camp Wapo and for how the Lord used it to bless our family!

“O magnify the Lord with me and let us exalt His name together.”
Psalm 34:3

What a sweet memory for your mom and dad to share with you children! I'm sure it was a special time reflecting on all that's happened since that "fateful" introduction. :)

Hello Wissmann family!
It's so amazing to see how God works! Isn't it wonderful to go back and see where your parents first met? When our family went to Omaha, NE. for the day, Mom and Dad showed us the small apartment that they lived in while Dad attended Grace University. For us girls, it was such a special thing to see.
God bless you all! You are such a wonderful example of a Godly family! We need more families like you in America! I'm praying for you.
Keep singing for Him! :)
God bless!
Because He lives,

Thank you, thank you for taking a break from your normal blogging topics to bring that 'peak into the past'! It was so much fun to hear the story again. God's faithfulness truly does abound!

I hope you paused to sing the song about how they met?? It would have been so fitting, right?!!?(smile)

Much love and hugs to all!

See ya soon!

May the Lord give you increase more and more, You and your children. May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. Ps.115:14-15
